We are the Umanqoba Team and we would like to share our experience of Cape Town with you. Join us on our Cape Town adventure and our quest to accomplish our Cape Town Bucket list. Umanqoba means "winner" in isiXhosa which is the predominant language spoken in the Eastern Cape which is next to the Western Cape where Cape Town is. We chose this name because we all feel like Winners being in Cape Town. We hope you will enjoy reading and sharing our adventures through this blog. And maybe we will inspire you to one day come and visit this incredible city.

I come from France, I just finished my studies and I'm going to be in Cape Town for 6 months. Why Cape Town you might ask ?? Because I wanted to discover a new culture, new landscapes, new people... But my main goal is to learn English in an amazing location and have a fantastic time !

I’m from Japan. I have been in Cape town for the past 2 months. I am having a good time in Cape Town. I’m interested in watching sports including soccer and baseball, and traveling around different places. I also LOVE karaoke.

I come from Normandie . I am staying in Cape Town for 5 months and I really want to explore  this beautiful country, I love amazing adventures, discovering  new cultures and I want to make the most of my time in  South Africa. I’m crazy about sunsets and sport.

My passion is traveling around the world and learning about many cultures. I have been to many cities but Cape Town is the number 1. Being here has been the best experience in my life. 

Hello! I come from France, more precisely from Toulouse! I’m 21 years old and I’m in Cape Town for 6 months! I really love sports, climbing mountains, and eating. What I love about Cape Town is its history and the sun! My dream is to also see all the faces of South Africa, that’s why I’ll be focusing on the community! 

I’m from a small city called Wolfhausen near Zurich in Switzerland and I’m 21 years old. I’m here in Cape Town for 6 months to learn English and get to know this beautiful country and its interesting culture.  I really like art, painting in my free time and taking  photos all the time and I play guitar and piano. Sport is another big hobby for me, the best sports for me are cycling, jogging, windsurfing and snowboarding (only in Switzerland!).

I’m from Spain. I have studied Industrial Engineering, I like going out with my friends. I am going to stay here until May.  I am studying English because I need to find a good job. I think Cape Town is amazing; I can do hiking, jogging and surfing in the same place. In Spain, I used to do jogging, but here it is impossible because I haven’t got  time, I always have things to do, for example, visiting a township. 

Hello, I`m just a belgian guy who wanted to get lost in the gigantic city of Cape Town. I like art, travelling, discovering new things and most importantly, chilling with good people. Cape Town is a wonderful country with a history, a culture and a lot of fascinating landscapes which need to be seen.  I would like to try all the things possible to have stories tell to my grandchildren. And I hope I can make you jealous.

Hello, sons of lazy God!!!! I’m John Indiana, from Paris. I’m not a romantic person, just maybe the laziest person in the EF school. I’m fascinated by the crazy things in life and my job in this blog is to do some crazy things. I swear on my god (my bed) that I will succeed in this mission with pride and honor. So wait for it, Cape Town is going to be the paradise of the laziness and adventure.

I’m from Toulouse, in the north of France, I like extreme sports, music and travel, I’m happy to be here, Cape Town is really exciting and amazing, I like the place of this city.

I’m in Cape Town as student for 9 months in EF school. In France, I am still in high school so I expect to come back with a really good English level and leave my country another time to travel around the world. I chose Cape Town because of the weather and the strong culture that the other English speaking countries do not have. 

 I have lived in Cape Town for 18 years and have been teaching at EF for a year and a half, which, by the way, is frikken amazing!!!  I am very proud be a South African and love love love all animals, great and small! 

I have been in Cape Town for almost four years. And I've been teacher at EF for 3 years. I love this city and all its disparity and working at EF has been special because I don't need to go to the world, the world comes to me.
