De Waal Park by Ali

De Waal Park by Ali

It was a sunny Sunday when I went to De Waal Park near the school for a free concert. The Rescu, Mark Haze with guest Jono Tait and The Rudimentals were going to play for us. Before that we went to the Supermarket to buy some snacks and some sodas. It was cool because we were playing cards, listening to relaxing music and eating delicious food. There were a lot of people and a lot of dogs there. The music was really good and the people were friendly. Then we went to café. It was an amazing day.

Table View by Lorena

Table View by Lorena

This is one of my favorite beaches here in Cape Town, because like its name says, the view from the beach to the prominent Table Mountain it is so beautiful that it seems unreal, and it has easy access by bus or by car. It’s 15 min from the center of Cape Town, close to the beach you can eat in some of the nice restaurants. This is a fascinating place to spend a day of relax and delighting the amazing landscape that Cape Town has to offer.

Township braai (BBQ) I went to a Shisa Nyama , Township braai (BBQ) mzoli’s just once . It was really really amazing, we went there on Sunday at 12 o’clock, we were 14 people and we took two taxis. When we arrived there it was crowded. Waiting in line maybe 2 hours to just buy meat and cook for us, then we went inside it was really good. I loved the African Music and I was dancing African dance moves, you should go there.

Wine tasting by Emilie

Wine tasting by Emilie

I had the chance to go to Stellenbosch for wine tasting. Spending one day drinking wine farm after farm can seems dangerous (and it is) but it was such a good day! The weather was great that’s why the view was fabulous; you had the scenery of vines with the mountains in the background. The farms were really good, all different, several atmospheres at each one. As a French person I give a lot of importance to the taste, the color and the beauty of the wine and I wasn’t disappointed.

Hout Bay Market By Lorena

Hout Bay Market By Lorena

If you want fun and to have a good time with friends you have to go to The Hout Bay Market, it is a really good experience because you can eat excellent food, either local or international and enjoy the fantastic live music. Also you have the opportunity to buy Real African souvenirs. If you don’t have anything to do at the weekend in Cape Town, Hout Bay is the best option for you. From my experience I can recommend the authentic Chinese food and the tasty desserts in this amazing place.

The lake in Table Mountain by Aurore

The lake in Table Mountain by Aurore

When we get to the top of Table Mountain, you have a scenic view of Cape Town. Also if you walk in the mountain, you can see a beautiful lake. After two hours of walking down, I discovered an amazing lake in the middle of nowhere between the mountain. There is a little beach with sand. The lake is very strange because the water is red. You can swim even if the water’s temperature is cold…

How to have fun by John

How to have fun by John

Lesson 1 You can’t be bored in this city, really it’s impossible. First for a Parisian like me, having the beach next to the place where I live is wonderful, even though the water is cold like ice in the North Pole mixed with the ice of the top of Everest. But when the Cape of storm stops blowing its wild and crazy wind and you have a big sunny day, you have to be at the beach!!!

The World of Birds by Balthazar

The World of Birds by Balthazar

A few weeks ago my teacher and my class went to the world of birds, for me, that was an amazing experience. We discovered a lot of different birds. It's not too far from the school, it's in Hout Bay, maybe twenty minutes by minibus. In this place there are a lot of birds and some monkeys, turtles and squirrels. In this place you have a lot of eagles, parrots, ducks but also a lot of different and exotic birds like the peacock and the white peacock.

Castle of Good Hope by Clotilde

Castle of Good Hope by Clotilde

History is an important part of Cape Town. When the Dutch settlers arrived here in the 17th century they built the Castle of Good Hope. It was used like a centre for civilian, administrative and military life. It’s really wonderful to know that it's the oldest colonial building in South Africa! It’s a very interesting place to visit. I went inside it and you have a beautiful city view from the walls, with Table Mountain behind! Great for people passionate about history.

Simons Town by Lorena

The penguin’s colony is 20 minutes from the train station by foot, in this colony you can see the penguins in their natural habitat, hundreds of penguins go and come back every day to the beach and you can see babies and complete families of penguins relax on the beach.

Rocking the Daisies by Camille

Rocking the Daisies by Camille

Rocking the Daisies is an annual music festival at Cloof wine estate, in the middle of nowhere. It was just a group of EF student’s, some good music, good food and a lot of incredible mountains around. Going there was a real expedition! Firstly me and my friends learnt 2 days before going that there that all the tickets were sold out! Luckily Brad was here to help us! We finally, after a lot calls, found our tickets ! It was really so cool! We partied all weekend!

Halloween by Tanya

Halloween by Tanya

On Friday we celebrated Halloween which is not a tradition I'm familiar with. I took about an hour to paint my face on and set off to explore the night of the walking dead. All the students looked TERRIBLE (this is a good thing) and I felt like I was a different person the whole evening because of my mask. It was great to be a skeleton for an evening and play with my dead side a little. I think that's the point of Halloween? I really loved seeing everyone else also embodying their characters.

Kirstenbosche by Clotilde

Kirstenbosche by Clotilde

Last Saturday I went to Kirstenbosch with some friends on an amazing sunny day! For all the nature lovers I recommend this wonderful place! You will walk between a variety of flowers and trees. Some are so beautiful… It’s like a jungle, so big that you can stay all the day and have a picnic with your friends! And if you are a little bit of an explorer you will be able to find a small waterfall into the forest! I really like this peaceful place so far and yet at the same time so near to town.

Cape Point by Ali

Cape Point by Ali

Two months ago I went to Cape Point. We were 12 People and it was cloudy, rainy and cold. We first went to Hout Bay which was freezing and we took a lot photos. After that we saw ostriches which was very interesting. Then we went to Cape Point and we saw baboons stealing food, it was a crazy moment. We ate a reasonable lunch there and then we went to Simon's Town to see Penguins which was beautiful but there was a bad smell there. Then we came back to Cape Town and we ate a delicious dinner.

Theater by Ali

Theater by Ali

Last week we watched Bonfire Theatre project at the Alexander Bar on Strand street. When I went with my friends to the theater we were all excited about seeing our teacher Tanya on stage. It was a wonderful feeling when one of the actresses spoke with us because she spoke directly to us and included us in the show. She asked if anyone wanted to share their story with the audience. One of my friends volunteered to tell her story. It was a wonderful day which made me fall in love with theater.Ali
