Braii in Mzoli's
by John
The city of the Storms offers you many specialities, like crocodile meat at Mama Africa (check out the older post), Indian food…etc
But the biggest aspect and speciality in South Africa is by far the Braai. The Barbecue it’s a religion in the country of the Big 5, and I understand that because I have had the best braii in my life here.
Mzoli’s restaurant in the township is the reference for barbecue and how to do it. Unfortunately you have to wait 1h 30 to get some food but trust me, this meat deserves the right to wait!
If you are a vegetarian, no problem! Mzoli’s is famous for the ambiance too. African music, African house or Drum and bass are the definition of the spirit of this place and make the rainbow nation become « true » in this place, with a magnificent melting pot of origin. (even with some tourists).

The Gold African restaurant
by Clotilde
If you want to taste a lot of dishes from Africa in one dinner, the Gold African restaurant is for you! Fourteen small meals will be served at your table in sharing and individual portions. For example you will have the luck to eat Xhosa, Kenyan, Ethiopian, Cape Malay, Tunisian and Moroccan food for example…Everything is excellent! For me my favorite food was the first dish, the Xhosa corn bread with a South African smoked fish pate. The Cameroon Butternut with tomato and coconut milk was also delicious!
In addition to that you will enjoy the drumming lesson and the dancing and singing shows while you are eating! I even had some painting on my face like Xhosa people do!

Takumi
by Junki
Have you ever eaten this food??? This picture is of Japanese food which is amazing because it really tastes like Japanese food. Two week ago, I and two guys went to Japanese restaurant, Takumi to eat Japanese sushi. Then, I came across a reasonably priced lunch box for R60. I feel that this Japanese restaurant is one of best in Cape Town. So if you want to eat this food, you should go there for lunch until 2p.m. near the EF school.

Do you like a warm atmosphere ? Do you like eating new and incredible meat ? So you must go to Mama Africa !!!
One month ago, I went to the Mama Africa restaurant, the atmosphere is really wonderful. I had a really good time with my friends. I ate incredible meat like crocodile, springbok, buffalo and warthog (Poumba). My favorite it was the crocodile because the meat melted in my mouth. It’s really nice place !!

Vovotelo

Hi, guys. Have you ever been to Vovotelo Bakery across from the EF school? This picture is taken there, this Sandwich has some vegetables, ham and sliced cheese. I thought this sandwich is one of the best sandwiches in Cape Town because I felt that this tasted like a Japanese and European Sandwich and the sliced cheese is sooooo big . This sandwiches’ price is about R30 and cheaper which is than other bakeries. You should try to eat one!!!!!
